This analysis of information demonstrates that there is a need for a definition of injury in dancers in order to develop a comprehensive program of intervention and understanding of injury of dancers.

Currently, I am a student pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise & Sports Science. My interests lie in dance science – specifically perception of pain, injury prevention, and recovery. I hope to use these studies to work closely with dancers & performing artists on both the prevention and management of injuries. 

MOTOR LEARNING & CONTROL IN DANCERS: A LITERATURE REVIEW 

The studies examined in this review all pertain to the study of the motor learning and control in dancers, covering a variety of subjects such as the effects of dance training on balance and postural control, the effects of learning with a mirror, and action observation.

As a dancer, they tend to come out of no where, they take a while away, and we do not enjoy taking the time off to care for them. But is there a benefit to being injured?

THROUGH THE LENS OF COLLEGIATE DANCERS AND INJURY INTERVENTION. At the pre-professional collegiate level, nearly all dancers have been or are currently dealing with injury. This paper presents research as well as a treatment intervention plan.
